Durant – Eaker Field New Terminal Building
The design and construction of a new terminal building for the regional airport in Durant, Oklahoma, provides a variety of needed amenities. The facility includes a pilot lounge with a restroom and a shower, an FBO Office, flight planning room, a large terminal waiting and vending area, public restrooms, conference room, and a large meeting space.
The overall design speaks to the importance of the airport’s patrons. Large windows open to the runway to create dynamic views of the aircrafts. Much of the interior space features historically and culturally significant artwork and graphics related to Eaker Field, Ira Eaker, James Waldron, the Choctaw Nation, and other Native American tribes.
