Uptown Grocery Co.

This project re-imagined a previously developed prototypical store. We adapted the prototype to a site in The Village, improving upon the earlier designs. 

The owner did not want this to be a place where people simply buy groceries. The building needed to be inviting, encourage neighborly behavior, provide educational training, be environmentally conscious, and create healthier communities. Various design adjustments included pedestrian-friendly site elements, such as an outdoor cafe; native landscaping; eco-friendly refrigeration; LED lighting; geothermal HVAC; and a mezzanine level for community events and culinary training classes.
